Way To Travel group rafting through a Vietnamese lake surrounded by mountains

Why Way To Travel?

Vietnam is better when you travel deeper.

Who we are

Small company. Big adventures.

Way To Travel is a small, independent travel company based right here in Vietnam.

We don’t want to run hundreds of trips or send thousands of travellers around the world. We want to create brilliant adventures, know the people we work with and stay close to the communities we visit.

It means our trips feel personal — because they are.

Proudly local

Vietnam isn’t just where we travel. It’s home.

  • Created here

Every Way To Travel trip is designed by people who call Vietnam home.

  • Operated here

Run on the ground by local guides and local businesses — not from an office thousands of miles away.

  • Connected here

Years of real relationships with the people behind the places we visit.

Secret Villages of Hanoi

Where it started

Meet Jane. This was all her idea.

Jane grew up near Hanoi, in a small village where the local news still comes over the loudspeakers at 5am. Very Vietnam.

After more than 12 years working in tourism, including years spent guiding travellers around her home country, Jane knew exactly what she loved about group travel — and what she wanted to do differently.

She wanted the freedom to create the kind of trips she’d genuinely want people to experience. To work with great local people. To show travellers the Vietnam she knows. And, wherever possible, use tourism to do some good along the way.

So in 2022, Way To Travel was born.

“I wanted travellers to experience the Vietnam I know.”

— Jane

Our Give Back trips

See Vietnam. Experience it. Leave something behind.

Our Give Back adventures combine everything you’d want from an incredible trip through Vietnam with three days working alongside local people on a project that genuinely matters.

You could help build a bathroom, improve a family home, create a chicken coop or tackle something completely different. The project depends on what is genuinely needed at the time.

Three days of your Give Back adventure. Quite possibly the three you’ll talk about most.

Only on our Give Back trips

Volunteering is part of our Give Back adventures. Prefer to travel without it? Explore our Limited Edition trips.

Travel your way

Adventure doesn’t have an age limit.

Most of our travellers are 40+, and our trips have been created with them in mind — the right balance of adventure, comfort, support and time to actually enjoy where you are.

But age has never been how we decide who belongs on a Way To Travel adventure.

If you’re curious, open-minded and ready for an adventure, you’ll fit right in.

JOIN SOLO

Come as you are

Come solo. Bring someone. Both work.

Around 80% of our travellers join solo. Others bring a friend, partner or family member. Either way, you’re joining a small group of people who came for the same reason: to experience something brilliant.

The team

Good trips need good people.

Why Way To Travel

A different way to see the world.

We keep our groups small and our company small on purpose. It's how the trips stay personal and the magic stays intact.
